Noisy November

Noisy November

As I am sure most of you know, I am the father of two toddlers. Most of my evenings are filled with lots of noise. In fact, most of the time it is very loud noise; noises of joy, noises of anger, noises of happiness, and sometimes noises of sadness. There is never a silent moment in my house until everyone is in bed and asleep.

My house is probably not that different from yours. And, it's not just literal noise that we experience every day. It’s the noise of busy schedules, after school practices, church programs, and so many other things that happen all at the same time.

That's one of the things I love about the holidays; taking a minute to enjoy a different kind of noise. There is a distinct sound to Thanksgiving in my family. It's the laughter and screaming of my kids and their cousins, it's family reconnecting, it's a football game playing in the background. For me, it’s a welcomed break from all the normal noise. It’s an opportunity to be thankful to slow down and listen to the noise of time together. It makes me realize how much I love that noise of two busy toddlers.

This Thanksgiving, we want to let you know how thankful we are for you. May you be blessed with the noise of family, friends, rest, and joy. And maybe the sound of a football game, too.
